Hi, I’m Nutmeg

Nutmeg is a gentle and sensitive soul who's looking for a peaceful forever home, and she's coming as a bonded pair with her mum Lucy. These two share a deep connection, and Nutmeg truly thrives when Lucy is nearby. She's a shy girl who needs time and patience to feel safe in new surroundings. Starting her off in a small launch room will help her adjust without feeling overwhelmed, as large open spaces can be a bit much for her at first.

Her ideal home will be filled with cozy hideouts like cardboard boxes and cat igloos, along with scratch posts and cat trees that offer safe spots both high and low. She enjoys having access to shelves and dressers where she can perch and observe her world from a comfortable distance. Nutmeg will do best with an adopter who understands that she may take a little while to settle in and show her true personality. She's not one to rush into affection, especially around her head, so practicing touch consent is important.

Nutmeg came into RSPCA as a kitten in 2020 and was adopted with her mum. She was recently surrendered in 2025 and is now looking for a second chance at a loving home. She may be okay in a household with a calm, social dog, as long as interactions are monitored carefully. Older children or teens who can read cat body language and respect her need for space would be a great fit.

One thing that always brings out her happy side is chicken - it's her absolute favorite treat. With time, love, and the reassuring presence of Lucy, Nutmeg will slowly come out of her shell and become a cherished companion.
